It’s that time of year again. The nights have drawn in, at least in the Northern Hemisphere, and the temperatures have dropped. As we approach the holiday season — and 2020 looms large on the horizon — our thoughts naturally turn to the past year.
And for us at Kryon, what a year it was! To round off the year, I’d like to share some insights with you about some of the events I attended during the end of 2019, as well as some observations about what’s going on in the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) space.
Hot on the heels of my trip to CCW Europe, I was fortunate enough to be part of Kryon’s delegation to the Gartner IT Symposium/XPO™ 2019 in Barcelona and IA Week 2019 in London. Billed as “[focusing] on turning the latest in technology and business strategy into action” and the “journey across the realms of RPA and AI to allow you to overcome YOUR challenges” respectively, these unmissable events were the perfect opportunity to explore the technology and trends shaping the future of business.
The Gartner IT Symposium/XPO™ brought together around 7000 CIOs to listen to distinguished guest speakers from the worlds of business, technology and beyond, as well as to get pro tips and information from Gartner’s expert analysts.
IA Week was a smaller event, but by no means any less exciting or informative. More than 300 tech professionals heard over 60 featured speakers and thought leaders talk about the latest innovations in the world of intelligent automation.
At both events, the digital revolution naturally took center stage. It’s safe to say that I’ve never talked to so many knowledgeable tech fanatics in such a short space of time. Everyone – from speakers to attendees – was extremely well versed in what might be called digital-speak.
But, as a seasoned veteran of such gatherings, what really stood out for me was just how hot RPA is right now. Every session was quite literally packed to the rafters.
Here are just some of the key RPA takeaways that came up again and again:
- Organizations are using an expensive hodgepodge of systems, covering ERP, CRM, ERP, HR, Docs and more. Corporate acquisitions just add to this complexity.
- Analysts expect RPA providers to add more and more artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to their automation offerings.
- Although there are many obvious benefits to RPA, there are also significant risks that may concern potential customers. These risks include security and GDPR compliance, the masking of process inefficiencies, and the inability to keep track of automations.
But because we at Kryon believe in keeping our fingers firmly on the pulse of the latest automation developments, none of these were a surprise.
What was a (very pleasant) surprise was that everyone who visited the Kryon booths was very well informed about RPA and keen to find out how Kryon’s full-cycle automation suite could take them from process discovery to analysis and streamlining via intelligent robotic process automation. Even better, I was able to explain to them exactly how our offering directly addresses the issues listed above.
Firstly, the Kryon Automation Suite is industry and platform agnostic, facilitating easy process automation with zero integration required. This functionality makes light work of automating across the multitude of different systems used by so many of today’s enterprises.
Secondly, Kryon is right at the cutting edge as far as AI-based automation is concerned. Our unique AI Booster consists of a set of new artificial intelligence services based on Microsoft Azure’s Cognitive Services and integrated seamlessly into our RPA solutions. These services include Handwriting OCR, Form Recognizer and Text Analytics.
Thirdly, when it comes to security you can rest assured that you’re in safe hands with Kryon. Our automation suite has obtained the SOC2, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 security certifications. On top of that, you get a wide range of features giving you GDPR compliance that you can trust, including special measures for handling personal information and protecting your data and privacy.
Lastly, the end-to-end aspect of the Kryon Automation Suite confers a transparency that puts you right where you want to be – in full control of every part of your automation project.
If you want to see all these great features for yourself, we’d be happy to arrange an exclusive, no-pressure live demo. And if you’d like to understand more about how RPA can fit into your business plans, check out these informative use cases.
